this has probably already been clarified on this thread, but this is in Frejus, France and somebody through mud at him not spit. He says "the C$$T that through the mud at me, I would like to rip his effing head off" then later on, they find him and sting taps him in the head with his bass guitar headstock a few times and spits on him😂

Sting is playing like a genius, what fantastic bass playing singing and handles all this so well. They got security for a reasons. Sting should only be using his multimillion dollar hands for playing bass and guitar. Security is there to handle the rest.

I still remember not knowing too much about The Police other than a few tunes but that they were this incredibly hot popular band. Then boom,they break up. It was like their awesomeness was too much to contain and so it all ended so quickly. Fast forward 40 years and Im seeing Sting lose his shit after someone hurled a green monster at him. LOL

I remember seeing this as a kid and loving it.

I've loved this clip for so many years. Sting is mad at that guy and hilarious...and the music is tight at the same time 😄. "Poets, priest and politicians...I'm gonna fkn kill you! Is it a backing track of the studio version they are playing along to? Why else would you hear Sting harmonies in the mix when sting was away from the mic? So that’s how they got their studio sound live! Not exactly lip syncing but I suspect a way of padding their sound live. Whatever, it was so long ago and I quit paying attention after 1985 or so. They were power pop and it all went away soon enough. Interesting to see Sting getting agitated though. He had a kind of anger that you wouldn’t expect, but he was trying to conquer with a power trio, and that probably makes you nuts.
